Awards and Prizes
One beer will be judged Best-of-Show. In addition to a Best-of-Show ribbon, Twin Rivers Brewing Company has agreed to reproduce up to 3 barrels of the beer as faithfully as possible for service at the following year's Herbfarm Northwest Microbrewery Festival. This will include use of the same, or agreed to similar, malts, hops and yeast used in the winning beer. It is Twin River's intention to reproduce the beer, not just the style. The winning brewer may be present for the initial production phase, and agrees to be present, or have a knowledgeable representative present, at the 2000 festival for presentation and serving of the beer reproduced. Twin Rivers Brewing Company reserves the right to disallow use of any materials (i.e.: bacterial strains) which may cause harm to commercial operations.

First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category or combined category. First place winners will receive a $25 gift certificate from Evergreen Brewing Supply. Second and Third place winners will receive ½ Lb. of Imported hops.

The Herb beer category is being sponsored by The Herbfarm. The 1st place winner in this category will receive a $100.00 Herbfarm gift certificate.

Judging This competition will be BJCP sanctioned. All beers will be judged and score sheets returned within one month of the competition. The results of the competition will be posted on Evergreen Brewing Supply's website @www.westfork.com/homebrew and at the Brew Debut Competition booth at the festival. At the discretion of the judges some categories may not have a winner. All questions and disputes will be settled by Jon Mendrick, the Judge Coordinator. All decisions are final. Prospective judges and stewards are requested to fill out the attached form.

Mission statement
It is the intention of the Brew Debut Competition to provide homebrewers with an opportunity to participate in a first-rate competition. All entrants are assured of receiving timely, constructive feedback from qualified beer judges. We intend to provide a forum for experienced judges to exercise their skills, and provide experience training for the next generation of beer judges. In teaming up with The NW Microbrewery Festival and Twin Rivers Brewing we hope to bring greater awareness to the public about the hobby of homebrewing. We welcome suggestions on how we can improve our competition.
